What is Delta 8 THC?
Delta 8 is a naturally occurring chemical found in the cannabis plant. While primarily associated with marijuana, it can also be found in hemp, though usually only in very mild concentrations.
Is Delta 8 Safe & Legal?
Delta 8 is considered safe for human consumption. There are no major or life-threatening side effects associated with the chemical, making it a fine alternative to Delta 9 THC (the chemical most commonly associated with the sense of euphoria produced by marijuana). However, it should be noted that since Delta 8 is largely unregulated, there does exist a large potential for impurities that could be harmful. These impurities could include high levels of THC, among other chemicals that might produce their own dangerous side effects.
Legally speaking, Delta 8 exists within something of a grey area. Technically it can be gotten legally in most states. When hemp became legal at the federal level, it opened the door up for a wide range of cannabis chemicals, including Delta 8. When Delta 8 is extracted from hemp through CBD, it may fall within the perimeters of the same law that makes hemp legal.
Add to this fact that the bill that legalized hemp says nothing at all about Delta 8 and a compelling case for its legality begins to emerge. Unfortunately, however, the issue remains complicated and contested.
Amidst safety and legal uncertainty, the Delta 8 is officially banned in twenty states.

Does Delta 8 Make You High?
Delta 8 does produce a feeling of euphoria that relates closely to the experience of being “high”. In fact, for this very reason, some users go so far as to call it “weed-lite” because the results are similar to that of traditional cannabis consumption but to a milder extent.
Though Delta 8 is indeed an excellent way to enjoy a milder cannabis experience, it should be noted that this is not the result everyone gets. Because the chemical is largely unregulated, impurities make it difficult to know for certain exactly what effects a dose of something labeled Delta 8 will produce.
Does Delta 8 contain THC?
Delta 8 actually is THC—though not the kind that most people mean when they use the term. Delta 9 is the chemical commonly associated with marijuana’s psychoactive effects. Though Delta 9 produces similar results, it is not quite the same thing.
Delta 8 Side Effects
Delta 8 has been known to produce feelings of anxiety and unease in some people who take it. It has also been associated with headaches and cases of nausea.
Delta 8 Benefits
On the reverse, seem people have also successfully used Delta 8 to treat symptoms of anxiety and insomnia. Though not an officially sanctioned cure to any disease, it has the anecdotal support of many users who claim to have achieved positive results.
